ABOUT THE TRAINING
The Railroad Investigation & Safety Course, RISC, is a comprehensive curriculum developed by Operation Lifesaver Inc. (OLI.org), the leading advocate for rail safety nationwide. It focuses on the safe and proper ways to address railroad incidents and how to remain safe in the rail environment. This four-hour, four-module class, written by police officers and rail professionals, is critical training for anyone involved with inspecting or investigating activities within rail transportation easements or alignments. Upon completion of the course, each student will have an increased knowledge of basic railroad operations, equipment and how to work safely along the tracks.
An Operation Life Saver, Inc certification is offered for this training. To earn the certification one needs to attend the training, complete a quiz during the class and return a completed course evaluation.
INSTRUCTOR:
Lead Instructor Special Agent Thomas Jedic has over 40 years of law enforcement experience including municipal, county and railroad policing. A certified police academy instructor, S/A Jedic was a member of the blue ribbon panel assembled to write the RISC curriculum. S/A Jedic has taught the RISC course to hundreds of police officers from several states and is considered a subject matter expert in the content. He is currently a member of the Norfolk Southern Railroad Police SORT team (Special Operations Response Team) a unit which travels the 22-state system to address emergent issues and criminal apprehension

As such, you may be contacted by a NEEP representative for additional information prior to approval of attendance.This training is for government employees/officials only.
EVENT CAPACITY: In-person capacity is 200 people. There is no limit on the number of Virtual attendees.
